May half term is coming up very soon, officially starting on the 29th June, which is also a May bank holiday. Therefore, being in Brighton and Hove there is a range of things ready to do with the kids whilst they are off from school. We have compiled a list of things you can do if you fancy visiting Brighton and Hove for the bank holiday weekend with friends or if you are visiting with children for the whole school holiday. For the kids:

Although not technically in the city of Brighton and Hove, Fontwell Racecourse is only a short drive away in Arundel. The racecourse is hosting the Big Bank Holiday Family Fun Day on Sunday the 28th May. A perfect day out with the kids having a go on lots of free attractions. The free attractions include things such as the fun fair, zorbing, laser quest, pony rides, inflatable horse racing and many more! Kids go free at this event, on at 12pm-6pm.

Gerry Cottles Wow Circus is also in Brighton over the half term week. With 50 amazing acts in 100 minutes. Including acts such as daredevil acts high in the roof of the big top and even a motorbike on the high wire. Tickets are available from just £10, this event is something for all of the family to enjoy.

One for the youngest one is at Drusilla’s Park on Wednesday 31st May 2017. Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol will be appearing in the events arena throughout the day. For little ones who are fans of the show, it’s not one to miss! Drusilla’s Park is less than 30 minutes away from Brighton.

We can’t forget that Brighton Fringe Festival is on at the moment too. This festival provides hundreds of events and activities for kids through May and June. For example, the Fringe City Family Picnic takes is a free outdoor event that takes place every year in the Pavilion Gardens, with free activities for children of all ages. There will be puppetry, children’s workshops, acrobatics and many more. This event is on the 27th May and will start at 1pm.

More for the adults, The Komedia is hosting a comedy club over the bank holiday weekend. With a range of different comedy acts it is an 18+ event. Prices range for different days over the weekend and whether a meal is included. But for just the show the prices range from £12 to £24 (not including concessions and students).

Something more for the day time is the V.I.B (very independent Brighton) Food Tour. Available on the 26th and 27th May or the 2nd and 3rd June (also available on other dates). Brighton Food Tour is approximately three hours long, in these three hours you’ll visit all of the best foodie spots in Brighton and Hove. Because Brighton and Hove has so many of these independent food spots, The food tours company are able swap out different vendors depending on season, weather and preference. Prices are from £35 per person, this includes all food/drink tasting and exclusive discounts throughout the tour.
