First we would like to say Westbeach Properties does not charge guests booking fees! However, when making a booking with us, in order for you to secure the accommodation you will need to pay the security deposit plus 25% of the cost of your holiday upfront. Then 28 days before you are due to arrive for your holiday, you must pay the balance of the remaining cost of your accommodation.

The refundable security deposit required is between £250-500 depending on the type of accommodation and this will be returned 7 days after the end of your stay.

Also, it is advisable that you book quite a bit in advance, especially when it comes to Brighton and Hove. This is recommended for events such as the Brighton Marathon which always takes place in April, the London to Brighton Bike Ride which usually happens in June and Pride for example which happens in August. Especially with these example being in the summer months it is best for you to book in advance and as early as you can.

At Westbeach properties we always like to communicate with our guests before they book, so that we can double check that the property they are enquiring about is suitable for them.  Things to consider is if it is suitable for elderly people staying in regards to how many steps to reach to get to their holiday home and also suitable for children and babies. There a few owners that will take dogs into consideration but this will require a larger deposit. 

Once booked, we will liaise with the guests on how they are travelling and give appropriate directions. If coming by car, some properties might have parking but the majority of it is on street parking. Some owners can provide parking vouchers and generally in the Hove area parking is £1 per hour or £5 for 11 hours which is very reasonable. 

We always like to meet and greet our guests whereas some people give them a place where a key is locked away to go and let themselves in.  When greeting our guests, we find it is nice for them to meet face to face and to go through the property with them.  If guests arrive by car we like to show them where is good to place to park and give them a parking voucher if this is provided. We always leave an information booklet for them and this covers, any certificates such as gas safety and electrical, fire risk assessment, an information sheet on emergency numbers including Kim’s personal mobile, money off vouchers, a map of Brighton and Hove, a list of places to visit and a voucher from King Alfred Leisure center that includes a free swim and classes.  When we are showing guests around we point out the emergency exits and go through how doors lock and open which is important.  They can then ask us any questions that they may have on check in, but they do have our contact numbers just in case of an emergency during their stay with us.

All guests know before hand when checkout takes place which is generally at 11 am, but some guests might want a little bit longer which is not a problem unless time is needed to turn the property around for new guests that might be arriving that afternoon.  We always like to meet our guests on check out which is 7 days a week including Bank Holidays and this is where we can have a chat about how their stay was and we always appreciate any feedback from them.  Feedback is important to us because if there were any issues during their stay, it is something that we can report back to the owners, to try to correct this for any future holiday lets.
